National Schools A Div 2018 - Guys vs JJC Game Review

Joshua looking for an opening

Going into the last Group E game, both teams were full of energy and zest knowing that whoever wins the game would make it through to the next round.

The game started off well for our boys, especially with Bryan Teo making 2 three pointers in the opening minutes of the game. Our boys applied full court pressure right from the get go, resulting in multiple turnovers and easy baskets for our team. We ended the quarter with a score of 18-4.

In the second quarter, occasional defensive lapses and poor rebounding allowed our opponents to penetrate through our defense and score second chance points. Offensively, we were wasteful and did not take our chances, resulting in a poor 14-9 score in period 2 in favour of our boys.

Our offensive inability continued through to period 3 although we stepped up on defense. The quarter ended 10-6 in favour of our team.

Jeth with the rejection

The fourth quarter saw our boys show both our defensive ability as well as our offensive capability, with us pouring in 29 points while limiting JJC to 6 points. We were clinical in finishing the basket and shots started falling in from deep.

Bryan Teo ended the game with a game high 22 points, scoring an astounding 6 threes. Brendon Ngiam also put up an all rounded performance, racking up 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The game ended 71-25 with our team through to the second round.

Dream. Team. Fight. Win.
